About the Author
El doctor Luis Kishon naci� en Buenos Aires, Argentina, gradu�ndose como m�dico veterinario en 1979 en la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Desde el comienzo de su ejercicio profesional ha practicado cl�nica y cirug�a de animales peque�os y ex�ticos. Desde 1983 hasta el 2002 ha vivido y trabajado en Israel, formando parte de un reducido grupo de veterinarios que ejercen la medicina alternativa en veterinaria, difundiendo a trav�s de charlas y conferencias a colegas y al p�blico en general las ventajas y usos de la medicina alternativa. Desde 2002 reside en Miami, Florida, atendiendo en sus dos cl�nicas de animales peque�os con el mismo empe�o y cari�o con los que comenz� su camino y seg�n �l mismo afirma, lo seguir� haciendo “hasta que mis pacientes decidan que ya tienen bastante”. El doctor Kishon reparte su “demasiado poco” tiempo libre entre sus dos hermosas hijas, sus mascotas y sus Bonsai.

Libro adorable

Memorias de un Veterinario es el tipo de libros que, una vez que se leen las dos o tres primeras p�ginas, ya no se puede soltar hasta leer todo el contenido. Estas son las memorias de un m�dico de cabecera. Aquel tipo de doctores que todos a�oramos porque ya no quedan muchos. El m�dico veterinario que va mucho m�s all� de la consulta y la prescripci�n de medicamentos. Es el veterinario que interact�a con sus pacientes, conoce sus hogares, sus familias, se trasnocha algunas veces pensando en c�mo ayudarlos.

Este libro me llev� a llorar algunas veces con sus historias, todas reales, extractadas de su pr�ctica profesional. Otras veces me llev� a reir, a emocionarme y a conocer un poco m�s la psicolog�a de aquellos peque�os, peludos o emplumados amigos que nos aman incondicionalmente, que son eternos ni�os y que nunca pierden la inocencia.

Este libro ser� de ahora en adelante el regalo para todos mis amigos y familiares que tienen mascotas y tambi�n para aquellos que no las tienen porque despu�s de su lectura, estoy segura que querr�n compartir sus vidas con una de ellas.

About the Author

George McKay is a leading British author on aspects of alternative culture through music, protest, lifestyle. He is Professor of Cultural Studies at the University of Salford. His books include Senseless Acts of Beauty: Cultures of Resistance since the Sixties, DiY Culture: Party & Protest in Nineties Britain and Glastonbury: A Very English Fair. He is also co-editor of the academic journal Social Movement Studies: Journal of Social, Cultural and Political Protest (Routledge), as well as a fairly frequent contributor to BBC radio. He has appeared on numerous television programmes, and written for publications such as the Guardian, Independent, and New Statesman. He lives in Lancaster.

About the Author
David A. Turner is Professor of Education at the University of Glamorgan, UK. Before he entered academia, he was a physics teacher in secondary schools in England. He won the World Education Fellowship Prize in 2006 for his book, Theory of Education. He is currently Visiting Professor at Hiroshima University until July 2010.

About the Author

Xavier Freixas, (Ph D. Toulouse 1978) is Dean of the Undergraduate School of Economics and Business Administration, Professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (Spain) and Research Fellow at CEPR. He is also Chairman of the Risk Based Regulation Program of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

He is past president of the European Finance Association and has previously been Deutsche Bank Professor of European Financial Integration at Oxford University, Houblon Norman Senior Fellow of the Bank of England and Joint Executive Director Fundaci�n de Estudios de Econom�a Aplicada FEDEA), 1989-1991, Professor at Montpellier and Toulouse Universities.
Dr. Philipp Hartmann is Head of the Financial Research Division in the Directorate General Research of the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt. His previous positions include that of Principal of the Economic and Financial Research Unit at the ECB and Research Fellow for Financial Regulation at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Philipp Hartmann is also a Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR, London) and the Vice-President of SUERF, the European Money and Finance Forum.
Professor Colin Mayer is Dean of the Sa�d Business School and Professorial Fellow of St Edmund Hall, Oxford. He has degrees in Engineering Science and Economics (BA, First Class, 1974) and Economics (MPhil, 1976; DPhil, 1981) from the University of Oxford. He was a Harkness Fellow at Harvard University (1979/80), a Houblon-Norman Fellow at the Bank of England (1989) and the first Leo Goldschmidt Visiting Professor in Corporate Governance at the Solvay Business School, Universit� Libre de Bruxelles (2000 and 2001). He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Royal Economic Society, and an Inaugural Fellow and Board Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) in Brussels. Colin Mayer has previously been Chairman of the European Science Foundation Network in Financial Markets and Co-Director of the Centre for Economic Policy Research's Network in Financial Markets. I was pleasantly surprised by the Color Mixing Bible, it had more to it than I could have hoped for! I bought it to help ME make better choices in the acrylics I was about to invest in but, as a drawing and painting teacher, I have used it to help students in preliminary exercises with pastels, my advanced students have used it for setting up their pencil "palette" before starting assignments, my graphics students, who are into cartooning, have snatched it for the ink mixing section, the "subject mix" section has helped some of my Fundamentals students understand what to look for in making a formal analysis of artists' palettes, the book is new and already lovingly abused! Ian Sidaway has provided clear and consistent visual tables of results that have helped me and my students make better choices the first time with fewer of the unhappy accidents that occur in the haste of classrooms and deadlines. I particularly enjoy the "Watchpoints" that offer tips and caveats about certain pigments and their behaviors.
I strongly recommend the Color Mixing Bible to artists that work in different media; sometimes we get stuck mixing in a medium that just doesn't respond as expected because we are less practiced in it. This book allows the opportunity to make visual comparisons between media as we work.

Sadly this book excuses the tyranny of forced circumcision

The book has originality in both capturing the culture of food court workers and the genital mutilation of a teenage boy Frankly, I had trouble following the choppy plot. I felt like I was reading one of those stories where there were blank spaces of missing words that had to be filled in.
The writer abruptly ended scenes without finishing the story, such as the despicable circumcision scene. As an adamant anti-circumcision activist, I was troubled by the light-heartedness about the issue of foreskin amputation. It is thoughtless how someone lucky enough to escape the knife should be treated as a pariah or a freak, as in 'Pubes' case. The mother's insistence on the circumcision is the tragedy of the story, while Ralph, the father, relented with too little of a fight. Being intact is more and more common, and I hope this book does not promote the idea that circumcision is something that has to be done eventually. That premise is totally wrong. I would have like the author to have spent more time on the negatives of circumcision and that it violates medical ethics, human rights and the sovereignty we all have over our bodies.

It's a sad commentary on what one boy does to try and "fit in". He is body shamed by his society for being intact and feels that the only way to deal with his natural body is to skin his penis. Kind of disturbing and sad.

Sorry, but I did not like this novel at all. I couldn't connect to the characters, I felt like there were too many different things going on, and I had to force myself to finish it. I was expecting a light hearted comedy, but I didn't get that at all.

The details needed for success!!

One would think there is not much to ice fishing other than digging a hole, dropping some bait down in the water and waiting....NOT TRUE. I have been ice fishing where there are many people fishing and I was the only one catching.... There are very defined habits of the fish you are after and if you dont know this, you will be spending a lot of time on the ice with little success!! This book has all the information you need for a successful day on the ice and for the price, a great value!

Typical Lindner book. Like the old "Dragnet" series, "Just The Facts Mame". As with any text book can be boring at times, but necessarily so. Redundancy is the key to learning and professor Al and company is doing his best to teach you something.
