Trully inspiring and faith building book!

Love, love, loved it!I received this book as a gift during one of the the most difficult times in my life. I was diagnosed with a terminal illness and faced an uncertan future. This book on prayer served as a powerful reminder of the truth in God's word and the awesome power we have through prayer to enter the very throne room of God and lay our petitions before Him.Good read for those in need of a spiritual recharge!

This book explains how the baptism of the holy spirit will change your life and the life of those you pray for. It teaches you how to pray for others and what must change in your own life to prepare yourself and others for Christ's second coming. For change to occur in your life and your church the members must be united in prayer and this book brings members together in prayer. 40 days of true revival and reformation!

My church is going through a season of fasting and prayer, and this book is our guide along with The Holy Bible. Each day, there is a short lesson (it is usally just 2 pages) and a few questions to answer after every lesson. It is fully equiped with Bible verses and references so you can use it as a stand-alone book (if you don't have your Bible handy), and because it is a quick read, it doesn't take too much time to study.

There is also a page in the front of the book that encourages you to create prayer cards, to give to 5 people you want to purposely pray for, for the next 40 days.

What I particularly loved about the book is its simplicity. The author made the book simple enough for a child to understand, but yet profound enough for any adult to follow. It can definately used by all members of the family and can be used in family worship and small groups. Although each lesson is very short, the effects of each lesson is lasting. I believe even after these 40 days are over, you can share this book with someone else, as the blessings will stay with you forever. A Must buy!!!!

"Teaching for Results" is a must read for all educators!

Why aren't my students responding to my teaching? What can I do to help my students retain more information? Should I be mearuring my teaching efficiency by the way students learn? How come I always get all of the boring students?
Findley Edge's book, "Teaching for Results," will answer those questions and others. More importantly, it explains cognitive and learning development in a way that is easilty understood. Don't be fooled, however, into thinking it is simplistic. It certainly is not as Findley did his homework into learning and teaching methods. This is a book that every institution that trains teachers should require every student to read.
If there is only one flaw in the book it is in trying to track Findley's use of terms when he transitions from one idea to another. This is most important to a person trying to make a teaching outline from some of the chapters in the book. If that is not important to you then I would give the book a fifth star.
Churches should consider requiring all Sunday School teachers to read this book and to even write a short report about each chapter and how their teaching methods will be impacted by what they have read. Public speakers will be very interested in reading about how a listener automatically responds to the way certain questions or visual images are phrased. Parents would benefit tremendously in understanding the way children learn most effectively.
"Teaching for Results" isn't the only book on the market on the subject of teaching and learning but it certainly has to rank high on the list of those that can be used immediately and repeatedly. Get it today!

A Must Read For Sunday School Workers

If you are only going to read one book to help you improve your teaching, this should be the one. In this book, Edge encourages teachers to not only know what their goal is in teaching the lesson, but to aim for that goal. His premise is that teachers should not be satisfied with putting some information out there and hoping that the students learn something from it. The teacher should have an action in mind and aim to get the students to do that action. If the students are not learning and putting what they learn into action then the teacher is not teaching. This book is well worth reading.

An excellent resource

The subject matter is presented in superb technical detail, but in a straight-ahead style that should be readily understood by any reader with a good grounding in basic electronics. The emphasis is on what the equipment does and why; and although there are no schematics or discussions of particular circuit details, this information is readily available from other sources and its omission is not a flaw in the case of this book. This book takes more of a "systems" approach and discusses the video and audio waveforms, the type of equipment used to generate, process, transmit and receive them, and the various technical standards used in television and computer video. As an audio/radio engineer starting a new career in the television field, I chose this book to help get me up to speed on video technology, and it has not disappointed me.

This is it!

I finally found "THE" book to meet our needs. I am an assistant teacher at the Electronics Engineering School at Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria, Lima, Peru. For years we have been trying to find a book on which to rely on for the complete course of Television Engineering. Our choice has been made, this is the book. Despite the few differences between the second and third edition, which we celebrate, the contents of this books is a condensed coverage of all topics related to television in a modern view. Our goal is to teach our students the widest range of knowedge about television systems, starting from analog TV up to DTV, and happily, this books covers it all. My favorite chapter is the one related to CATV systems, I found a lot of material previously unknown to me, good to know, if you find that I have been in the television business for the last 10 years and I have been Technical Manager of one of the most popular stations in my country. I recommend you to buy this book, read it deeply and you will learn a lot about the most innovative technologies of the new "vision" of "Television".

This book was published in 1998 and it shows. I expected a bit more engineering but this is more like a technical overview. It is strange that it introduces formulae with very little explanation.
